Vietnam wall visit postponed to 2021.

HART — A Vietnam traveling memorial wall that was scheduled to make a stop at the Oceana County Fairgrounds this summer has been postponed to next summer.

Event organizers posted the following statement on Facebook Monday, May 18:

“Good Afternoon, everyone, due to current events we have had to reschedule the wall event. The wall has been rescheduled for July 7-11, 2021. Thank you so much for your support of this event.”

The wall was scheduled to make a stop at the Oceana County Fairgrounds July 8-12.

It is 80 percent the size of the national monument in Washington DC, which is the largest replica.

The wall stopped in Hart for an afternoon in 2014 as it was being towed on a trailer on its way to Ludington. This year, residents would have had several days to visit the wall on display. However, they will have that opportunity next year.

Inscribed on the black granite wall are the names of more than 58,000 men and women who gave their lives or remain missing.
