Baseline Road closed for re-paving.

HART TOWNSHIP — Baseline Road between 88th and 96th avenues — in front of the county animal shelter and airport — is closed Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, to begin a $250,000 paving project, according to Sandy Griffin of the Oceana County Road Commission.

“The shoulder work and road base work will be finalized and then the asphalt base course will be applied — probably tomorrow after it warms up,” Griffin said. “One day next week, the top course of asphalt will be applied and the area cleaned up before opening the road to traffic — again, weather permitting.”

The project cost is funded via a four-way split between Peterson Farms, Hart Township, Shelby Township and the road commission.
