CLAYBANKS TOWNSHIP – A total of 35 guns were stolen from gun safes located inside a gun room in a residential pole barn on South 56th Avenue near Winston Road over the weekend, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The victim is a gun collector and had some “high value” guns, including several pistols, that were stolen, Mast said. The burglary was reported Saturday, Nov. 24, at 3:20 p.m.

The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the burglar(s). If anyone has seen a suspicious vehicle in that area, or has any other information in reference to the burglary, they are asked to call the sheriff’s office at (231) 873-2121.

Mast said more information about the case will be released soon.
