NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 17-year-old Hesperia man was arrested Sunday night, July 8, following a break-in at the Hightower Saloon near Hesperia shortly before 5 a.m., according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The teen, who allegedly stole “multiple bottles of liquor,” is being charged with burglary, Mast said.

He broke into the bar through a locked side door, the sheriff said. An alarm activated, and the suspect “got spooked by the alarm.”

Through subsequent investigation, the suspect was arrested Sunday night at a nearby residence, he said.
