HESPERIA — Four Oceana fire departments participated in Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training in the retail space of the former Hesperia Variety Store Saturday, Oct. 29.

Firefighters gained valuable training by learning how to save fellow firefighters in various scenarios.

Participating departments include Hesperia, Shelby-Benona, Grant Township and Walkerville.

The training wrapped up Fire Prevention Month activities that local departments have hosted during October.
