PENTWATER — The 48-year-old missing Illinois woman, who the Pentwater Police Department was assisting the Oak Park (Illinois) Police Department in the search of, has been found dead in Illinois, said Pentwater Police Chief Laude Hartrum Thursday, Dec. 3.
Alicia Yaus was last seen Nov. 28 near her Illinois home. Pentwater police assisted in the investigation, because Yaus’ family has a cottage in the Pentwater area, Hartrum said. The case is now being handled by Oak Park police as a death investigation, the police chief said.
Yaus had two teenage children. She had a history of alcohol and prescription pill abuse, according to Oak Park police. Yaus suffered from depression, and her family believed she may have relapsed or may have been contemplating suicide, according to the Oak Park police.
